Project Brief: Our design intent was to transform a blank canvas into a Warm, Cozy, and Elegant hub, implementing our custom Afro Deco aesthetic created for this unique project. The design achieved high functionality by utilizing a bold but classic color palette by Sherwin-Williams and avoiding all veneer materials to honor the home’s original character. Key design features included custom built-in shelving designed to house the family’s books and musical instruments, highlighted by six dimmable “spin-on-can” lights. A high-performance sleeper sofa provided comfortable seating and guest accommodations. A motorized standing desk and specialized closet storage turned reading nook optimized the space for virtual work and organization, making the small but mighty room a complete and curated family sanctuary.
